Died in the arms of his jailbait girlfriend in the apartment block behind mine in Vancouver.

1. Hey, I lived a block away from
the building they used for filming Fox Mulder's apartment.

Pretty close to Errol Flynn's final pad.

I love Vancouver Island, but how I miss the West End!

1100 block of Pendrell. I lived another block up on Comox next to the United Church.

BTW where exactly was EF's untimely demise? I've heard differing accounts.

2. Yup
He was truly bizarre. Was told some true stories by a guy who died relatively early as a semi famous, though most prolific, and talented alternative rock star.

When he was a kid he lived next door to Errol Flynn in the Hollywood hills. He used to sneak next door and play voyeur on Flynn's really perverse parites and behaviors.

The experience at a tender age clearly had a profound effect upon this guy and explained much of his later brilliant though tormented artistry.

3. The only way to go!

I'd rather go that way than in a hospital bed with hundreds of tubes, wires and IV's going in and out of me...like they said in the 40's...In Like Flynn...

7. Errol
Well, maybe he did have a lot of darkness and perverse behavior during life, but watched him Sat morn in an 1939 flick with Bette Davis (she played Queen Elizabeth I and he was Robert Deveraux, Lord Essex) and all I can say is he certainly was gorgeous.

8. Woohoo Think certain people will show up to let us all know they
revile child molestation? i haven't quite taken that point in yet. I may need to hear it A MILLION MORE TIMES before I really understand the gist of it.

That said, Errol Flynn was quite the ladies' man, and the man's man as well. also the mature-looking jailbait's man too. I saw the saddo Beverly Aadland on "You Bet Your Life" she dated him the last two years of his life and was 17 when he died.

He was handsome in his youth, but kicked the crap out of himself and aged quite quickly because of it...Lived fast, died relatively young and left an extremely unattractive corpse. And he made Olivia de Havilland cry with his sexual innuendo. Bette Davis really slapped him when she was playing Elizabeth I.
