2. I'm not an insomniac...
...I just like to stay up late. Even if I'm tired. Something about nights-- the pets are sleeping, it's nice and quiet. Late nights have a timeless feeling that I like.

19. Midnight is noon to me....
Since I am a night shifter....best time for my daily walk is midnight. Almost had a heart attack one night, though, cuz a neighbor was out sitting in his yard <no lights on> and he scared the HELL out of me when he started talking to me as I walked by his house!
:scared:

3. Up writing the paper from hell
I have to write it with two other students as a community project. They selected me as editor and assured me they always get As on their papers.

It's the most God-awful thing I've ever read. They want me to highlight the changes I make so they can decide if they want to keep my changes. Frankly, I'm highlighting about 25% of it. The rest I'm just writing in something resembling the English language.

I really doubt they will notice. I hope...it's my grade too!!

We are only about half done and it's 30+ pages long. Due on the 2nd. God help me.

8. Writing a paper with others...
...is about three times harder than doing it alone. I HATE working in groups. As an undergrad in engineering, they always made us do group projects, because they wanted to give us the "real world" experience of working with a team. It always ended up being one person who did 75% of the work, and the others just making errors that the one competent person had to fix. Hey, maybe that IS just like the real world after all...

Well, I don't like the real world. That's why I'm a professional student :)

12.  I have always said the same thing...

about working on group projects and on a "team" at work.

I do all the creating, everyone discusses (blah, blah, blah), then I do all the editing (more discussion which I ignore), and then I format and publish the final.

It must be the same everywhere, because my hubby said the same about his MBA program, and my son says the same thing about his engineering program.

and we both had to write a paper on one of our experiments.

Guess who wrote the paper? Me.

The guy didn't have a brain in his head. That's why I wrote it.

15. Here's just a small example of their, um, writing.
This is supposed to be a scholarly, APA-format paper for a senior project that has taken us all semester.

"The number of social and health services offered were amazing."

Wonder if I can find and cite a source for that? Oh, probably not since they have managed to conveniently omit source material for almost 50% of what they have written so far. After repeated protests from me that I would rather get a C on this for poor research than get kicked out of school for plagiarism, I've decided to find all the information myself.

That's why I'm still up at 2:30.

16. i do, but it's only 12:45 here, not quite 'insomnia time' if you ask me...
Once it gets past 2 I consider myself to be 'suffering'.hour and fifteen to go and I will be tearing my hair out instead of sleeping.
