on year 3 of half my salary with all the bills in full. CCs all maxed out. I know Xmas isn't just giving, but I feel bad if I can't get someone like my niece or mom a really nice gift.

6. besides donating some money in lieu of gifts (between hubby and me)

we're being very cheap. Only one gift for parents and that's it. We're not exchanging with sibs or neices and nephews (they never send thank you's anyway - grrrr) My kids will get some craft things and educational toys, but only a few. I already told the grandparents to ease off - they overdid it last year.
