Truly a red letter day for fans of intelligent TV
Buffy the Vampire Slayer season seven goes on sale on DVD today. Why, oh why did they not declare this a national holiday?

4. Joss Whedon's new film

Based on the short-lived TV series Firefly. It's a futuristic scifi deal. For Angel and Buffy fans, there are a couple of actors from the series in the movie. (Jasmine from Angel and the Preacher from the end of Buffy).

7. Thankyou koleszar.
I, of course, know Buffy and Angel, but I've never heard of Firefly either. We don't get all of your TV shows here in the UK., just most of them. :)

9. Oh, you're in the UK!
So do you watch Hex? I really like it. I download the episode every week. Although they call it the British Buffy, I don't think they are similar at all. It is my new favorite show :)

8. plain ol' moron...
... and proud of it! :)

But here's the devil's advocate position. I believe I watch TV intelligently because:

I only watch shows that are out on DVD and seem to have a following among relatively intelligent people with good taste. Needless to say that means I watch very few TV series', and I usually don't watch them at all until they've been off the air for a few years. And I'll only give a show a try after being badgered by numerous friends and relatives to watch the show. And even then, I'll resist watching the first episode until somebody finally twists my are and makes me sit down and watch it. Then I either pick up the rest of the series on DVD and watch it, or not, based on it's own merit. But I won't be persuaded to watch by ratings or commercial hype or sponsers.

I am proud to say that I haven't seen a TV commercial for many years. I didn't even see one single political commercial this past election season.

So I believe there is such a thing as intelligent TV viewing. You just can't watch TV shows that are still alive on commercial or cable channels without subjecting yourself to commercial hype.
