A call to action. DU we need your help. Someone please help us!

I am once again calling for a massive march on the capitol. While this country is being dragged down the crapper, will we stand by and do nothing? Or, will we rise up from behind our computer screens and take our beliefs and anger into the streets and TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK?

I hope that DU or some other organization will SOON call for this and support it. I just got my letter from Kerry today thanking me for all my hard work, asking me to keep working for the ideals of the campaign. Yes sir Mr. Kerry, while you arrive each day in a limo to your high paying job with all of it's wonderful benefits, those of us who worked our asses off for you will be left out here to suffer in the darkness under the regime of Bush. I'm sorry but the letter gave me NO comfort at all. It pissed me off!
We have been duped, bamboozled, and lied to long enough. We MUST take this to the streets and protest in non violent ways in numbers that can not be ignored. Please join with me in asking the DU or Move On or some organization to get behind this idea. There are 53 million of us and we should become one and make them listen. This country sinks slowly into an abyss that is so dark, we can't even imagine what is in store. For those of us with vivid imaginations we fear to imagine. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE , let's all stand together and MARCH on Washington. Maybe Senator Kerry would come out of his office to wave at us. I don't care anymore about the election, as Kerry wrote in his letter . "It is over". We must move on but in a way that MAKES the current administration sit up and notice. I beg you all to help in this cause by writing the good folks at DU, Move On and any other progressive liberal organizations to help us put this thing together. This MUST be done people. This is not a matter of talking about it anymore. We MUST show our contempt for what has happened to our country, our Constitution, and our way of life. Write some letters, e-mails, what ever you think is most effective. I like the DU as a sponsor because we are a resistance movement, much like the French Underground.
Again, I hope and want this to be very peaceful. If we could get a few million folks together in one place I think Bush's smirk would disappear and a genuine revolution would begin to take shape. Let the War Cry and the beat of the drum go forth to all concerned people of this country. We need physical action and we need it soon! From town to town across this land let the steady beat of the drum bring us from our homes and into the streets to stand, march, and cry out for our beloved nation. For if we remain content to sit behind our monitors and carp, and type, nothing will change, nothing will happen. We must rise up!

Thanks for reading my continued pleas for this. I hope someone with the organizational skills and the necessary tools will soon step forward and organize us. I'll be the first in line at that time with my checkbook open and my feet ready to move!

I know I don't have thousands of posts here but I care! PLEASE help by writing the DU administrators and other organizations with this idea. PLEASE . I feel that this is our only chance!

2. your passion is in the right place...

but i think your posting might be in the wrong place.

i'm fairly new at DU but it seems like the DU lounge is just a place to kill time and screw around.

i think you may be better off posting this kind of message in the activism & events forum.

i just felt bad that no one was responding to your post. i know it must be frustrating.

we have a situation in PA where our wnut senator might be involved in a possible scandal that i have dubbed the Santorum CYBERGATE Scandal. Briefly, Sen Santorum lives in VA, but still has a house in PA, is claiming this as his residence so that the local school district has to pay his kid's cyber school education. and now it turns out that he might even be renting out the house that he supposedly lives in. possible fraud???

anyway i've been trying to get any DUers in the area to respond to my posts to take some action such as putting signs up in area towns asking Sen. Santorum to not move to our towns because we can't afford him, or signs asking him to pay back the money, or signs asking him to move to VA.

i have posted numerous times, in numerous locations on DU and have yet to get any response. i have also contacted the local democratic meetup groups - no response. i got some response from the local DFA group but it seemed mostly to be moral support and a kind of "we'll talk about it next meeting" kind of attitude.

so today i checked with the local ACLU to make sure i would get their support if i erected a sign in my town. the ACLU had to fight the town over an anti-canvassing ordinance during the campaign - they won. if the town gives me any trouble they'll back me.

so tomorrow i go buy the lumber and build the sign. i'm no carpenter or sign maker and not any spring chicken either, but i'll be damned if if i'm just gonna sit in front of a computer and bitch for the next four years. i'm ready to do something.
