What's the worst part/aspect of your job?
The biggest disadvantage? Or the most stressful part of it?

What's the best part?

1. Best part, extending an offer of employment
worst part -- telling someone they didnt get the job. This always makes me feel sad.

5. The worst part
I'm under utilized. I could do a lot more.

The best part

My manager works in another office 5 miles away and I never see him. Also the pay is good.

6. Worst is the lack of control I have
I work at a grocery store where I am in charge of the back room - receiving, inventory, organisation. Since it's a 24 hour store, I can't always be there and though I try to make it easy to keep my standards while I'm gone, it's impossible to get hundreds of other people to follow my lead. Some don't realize, some don't care. So I spend the first hour or more of every day cleaning up after people who leave my space in complete chaos.

Best thing though is the people I work with. There are a few I don't particularly care for but most are very good people who I enjoy being around. There's no one who I hate and my boss is great which is a plus. I also like a large percentage of the customers and most of my vendors and truck drivers.

For the most part, I like my job. I consider myself lucky to be doing something I can enjoy.

24. Yup, healthcare seems to be one of the only fields where the job prospects
are halfway decent - plus once I pass the certification test, I can work almost anywhere in the country (I think California has licensing procedures beyond the standard test.)

9. No money, no benefits, no respect
I just moved to Vegas and had to land something quick. I took a graveyard shift at Speede Mart, where customers play the slots 24/7 and teenagers attempt "beer runs" at all hours. I'm looking for something in my fields (theatre management/publishing) but until then I'm stuck dealing with some of the most rude, craven SOB's in the Valley.

There is no best

11. Half my salary
I do some programming, tech support and systems and make a lot less than I'm worth :-(.

But I have Blue Cross HMO Blue and my company pays my premium. We have allocated 6 spots for our company and I have one - they cost $50 a week and they pay for it too.

And they're all liberals! Even the "token republican" is Dem friendly.

12. Having to actually go there.
Edited on Mon Nov-15-04 03:45 PM by kmlewis
I wish I could work from home a few days a week. I only live about 5 minutes from my job but the people really get on my nerves. I wish my office door locked.

But other than some of my coworkers (oh and some of the clients), I really enjoy my job.

13. Being nice to stupid bush students
I don't see them often because I am in a low contact job but the problem bushies get to me because they think they are special in some way. "The rules don't apply to me" attitude drives me insane. When the job is done at the end of the semester I feel good.

20. Hee hee.
Ok worst part? Ummm, it honestly is a great job all around so I'm having a hard time with that.

Best part? I spend most days alone (then other days are very seeing- people-intensive, so I make up for it!). On the days I am working with other people, it's quite rewarding 90% of the time.

I guess a worst part part could be that this is a job I could easily do most of from home, but they'd never go for it.

26. Thank you.
Glad to know you have a great job. Hey, it doesn't hurt to try to ask to work from home, if that suits you. I know that working from home is not for everybody, though -- requires discipline and all that.

Ok, my turn: Best part is having one to pay the rent and the bills, and also I can be independent in my job.

Worst part is it's a dog-eat-dog system, and usually no pat in the back for a job well done.

21. I do not have gainful employment.
I am occupied by the raising of my children and the running of my household.

The best part? I'm my own boss. No, really. The kids are not the bosses. Really. No, I'm serious.

The worst part? Hard pressed to think of one. I like doing something OTHER than being wife/mom/homebody, but I have my writing for that. Now if I could just peddle one or twenty of these damned stories and articles....

25. The worst part
is when people get really ill/ or die and you watch the family fall to pieces.

And the best part is when people get better and go home.

(I work in a hospital and I do love my job)

Bad part: They want me to show up occasionally, or they'll stop sending paychecks.

28. My job bones ass.
I went back to college when I was 25 because I didn't finish and was stuck in a low paying warehouse job. I went back and got an accounting degree, spent a few years in public accounting and now I'm an internal auditor for a bank. It blows. I'm surrounded by anal retentive, repukes. I've finally come to the realization that I can't work for anyone except myself. I started up a partnership doing bookkeeping, taxes, etc.. for individuals and small businesses, and I enjoy working on my own MUCH more. I'm just not making enough money to do it full time yet. So, in the meantime I'm stuck in this audit position. It's like watching paint dry around a bunch of people that really get off on watching paint dry. UGH!
