I need help on how to split a file into either 2 rar files or 2 zip files

I've got winrar and I successfully figured out how to make a file into a rar. But I can't figure out how to split it into either 2 rars or 2 zips, which was the reason I made it into the rar.

Someone gave me these instructions.

Remember WinRAR?
It has an option to divide files into parts.
Add->General->Split to volumes, bytes->OK
It should create file.r01 and file.r02

But under "split into volumes, bytes" there's just a drag down menue of 5 options I have no idea what it means, they're
1,457,664 - 3.5"
98,078K - zip-100
650m - CD-650M
700m - CD-700M
autodetect

can someone tell me what I should do?

1. The first option

will split your file into as many 1.44 meg slices as is needed, so the file can fit on a series of floppy disks.

The second into 100 meg pieces for zip disks

The third into 650 meg pieces for a CD with 650 meg capacity

The fourth into 700 meg pieces for a CD with 700 meg capacity

and the last seems to detect which would be best for your file automatically.

2. But it's just a 37 meg file that I want to split into 2 18.5 meg files

What should I do. I don't want to put them onto disks I want to put them on an ezshare upload. But regardless of what I use them for I just want 2 rars or 2 zips

8. ok, here's what I think you can do

where the drop down box is, just select the numbers. Delete them and type in 18,500,000.

That should do it!
