A few clunker jokes, but there were plenty of chuckler moments.

A better season opener than last year, to say the least.

its still a little too random for what i like in the simpsons. but, it IS better than last season so far.

4. Well said! The latter years seem to be less coherent and more

goofy off-the-wall gags.

Fortunately, more of them work this year and, at least in this opener, there is some coherency in the plot. Almost seems like a different show. But, yeah, it's still a little "doped up" at times.

14. the thing is

i LOVE family guy, and it is BUILT on incoherency. But, FG not only does it better, but does it all the time, whereas the simpsons drifts in and out of it

God, that show is just a little slice of heaven. I hope the new episodes are just as great.

but its mostly the same writers, and seth mcfarlane is still involved, so i think it should turn out ok. though i really think cartoon network should have it rather than fox, who dumped it when they thought it hadnt done well.

i have the first two seasons on dvd, and i watch them CONSTANTLY

13. great line on Arrested Development

A little long to set up, but it involves one of the crazy brothers buying a boat called "The Seaward" (they show it painted on the end of the boat, but the joke comes later when they say it out loud)
