5. There was a big article about this in /Wired/ like four years ago.
Have you read it? I can go find it online if you haven't.

Also, there's a book called The Age of Spiritual Machines that's pretty much about the same thing.

I don't think they will because there's no reason we'd set them up to do so.

6. Here.

This was like the height of the Internet age though, or just after it started to decline. I imagine not many people think about this stuff seriously now, positive or negative.

7. the REAL question is: after machines inherit the earth...
will they have endless wars and interminably long discussions concerning the desires of their supposedly perfect and omnipotent CREATOR?

8. They certainly could
which is one reason to support the Constitutional amendment allowing foreign-born citizens to become President so Ahnold can become President and save us from the bad Terminators!

I'm being tongue in cheek, by the way...

10. I believe ATM's and various other card readers already do.
If they all decided to not work at one specific time we'd be screwed. No money, no groceries, no gas, no getting in or out of some buildings. We would be at their mercy.

11. It sounds like a really bad movie
that someone like, say, Stephen King might direct...

Maybe get Emilio Estevaz to play the lead, I've heard he's not doing much lately...
