What music are you listening to right now?
Charles Mingus's "Fables of Faubus" from the album Mingus Ah Um. Excellent album except the song "Bird Calls."

7. That is bad stuff.

I am glad I have an office with thick walls. Of course it's only 10X10 and I have a shitload of books and papers in here. And the walls aren't so thick that I can't hear students out in the hallway talking on their damned cell phones or bitching about their professors.

6. None, but I'm just about to turn Franken off
because his show is so boring now. I could stand to listen to some good music until Randi comes on. I think I'll go with The Beatles.

24. Killing Joke (self-titled, 2003)
An amazing return to strength by longtime post-punk/aggro/apocolyptic stalwarts. As angry and explosive as they were twenty-five years ago. Features Dave Grohl (yeah, THAT Dave Grohl) on drums.

Also in heavy rotation: The first self-titled album by Ultravox (pre-Midge Ure bubblegum pap era), "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis, and "Barí" by Ojos de Brujo, a very cool Spanish hip-hop/flamenco nuevo group from Barcelona.

27. Going through my collection of bootlegs
.. from the local music festival - Roskilde Festival. So far I've got:
Aimee Man from 2002
Ian Gilland band from 1977(!)
Metallica from 1999 & 2003
Paradise Lost from 1998
The Cure from 1985 & 2001
The The from 2000
U2 from 1982 (A legendary concert - and great sound despite being 22 years old!)
Beastie Boys from 1998
Blur from 2003 (A killer performance - I was all the way up front at that gig)
Calexico from 2000
Coldplay from 2003
Dave Gahan from 2003
Dimmu Borgir from 1998
Garbage from 1998
Iron Maiden from 2000 (One fucked up concert to say the least - the rumors have it that more than 1000 people were hauled over the front barrier by the security people. 24 hours later, it wen't horribly wrong & 9 young men didn't make it)
Jeff Buckley from 1995
John Fogerty from 1997 (With one HELL of a version of Fortunate Son)
Kid Koala & Bullfrog from 2000
Kraftwerk from 1998 (Another amazing concert - 30,000 people were applauding for 2-3 minutes after each number)
Manu Chao from 2001 (Yet another amazing concert - didn't see it myself, but a friend of mine said that the whole crowd were just jumping up and down)
Massive Attack from 1995 (I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove 'Hymn of the Big Wheel'
Red Hot Chili Peppers from 2002 (A VERY wet concert)
Robbie Williams from 2001 (Another WET concert - but I didn't notice it until after the concert)
Rollins Band from 2000 (First concert after the tragedy the day before - and what a kick-start!)
Slayer from 1998 (I can just imagine the crowd at the front barrier)
Suede from 1999
The Chemical Brothers from 2002

.. and at the moment, I'm stuck at John Fogerty - I just love that recording!
