DU singles forum

Skinner doesn't want to do it, because he's afraid it will devolve into a sex thread forum, but wouldn't that be as easy to police as any other forum? The Lounge used to be all sex threads and when they decided against that, they just deleted and deleted until people got the idea.

I think a singles forum would be wonderful. So may couples have met and even married here, I think a safe, respectable forum where like-minded people could meet would be really benficial. And free, unlike match.com or some other online dating services.

janesez. I had a thought about the "bickering" thing - could the "Private Message" feature be used by folks in this situation who need to hash things out? I have never used this feature, so I don't know if it would be a viable tool for this type of thing.

Hypothetical situation, DUer 'A' had a hot date with DUer 'B' and wanted to tell his friends on DU that he got some action with DUer 'B', and the report got posted, then everyone would know that DUer 'B' is easy. DUer 'B' would inevitably read about it because she would want to tell her friends on DU how considerate, gentlemanly and romantic DUer 'A' was. Then DUer 'B' would put DUer 'A' on ignore. Then DUer 'A' would feel guilty and the board would be clogged with "I am sorry I was an insensitive ass",big images of flowers and kitten posts. could be messy

the names of the potential participants have been changed to protect the not quite so innocent.

11. If Skinner is afraid that any kind of singles forum

would devolve into a sex thread forum, he should go look over on the GLBT Forum, which already has a couple of, um, kinda racy threads..... (not that I care, I'm just sayin).

I'd be up for it. We could write the ground rules in such a way that, you know, outright sex threads are a no-no. Admin would police just like they do any other forum.
