Sean Connery was such a kick-ass James Bond. Then he left the series and along came Roger Moore, who turned Agent 007 into a pretty-boy sitcom star. Damn you, Roger Moore!
since he was the guy who played Bond as I was growing up. But since then I've come around to the correct thinking and Connery is the best and only Bond.
8. Picard plays evil mastermind spy in "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy"...
But what's weird about it is that even though he is the big Russian spy nemesis of the hero of the story, he only appears in one short scene in the six-part miniseries, and doesn't say a single word. (He's supposed to be Russian.) I wonder how much he got paid for the role?
He had just finished his run as "The Saint" when Connery bailed out and basically transferred the same role and "acting" style to the Bond role.
For any of you that are '60's Brit series fans ...
BBC America on cable/dish runs the Avengers (Mrs. Peal versions of course), The Prisoner and The Saint back to back every Friday night. Very time trippy after a martini or three.
