Dr. Phil is 6'4" and TWO-FORTY???? WAAAAAH!!!
And *HE* wants to tell *ME* how to get the blubber off???

"Physcician, Heal Thyself."

Saw an article in today's paper about his latest endevour...
OK, according to the same height-weight-BMI tables I'm working with, Ol' Phil is not only overweight, he's border-line Obese...And he wants to tell the REST of us how to take it off?

That's not setting well. This was a busy week, only got in 27 miles. Went 11 miles against a 12 MPH headwind yesterday that kicked my butt and left me drained. Too much to do today to ride, and i felt crappy from yesterday anyway.Won't get another chance until maybe Wednesday (if I'm so fuckin' busy, why ain't I hauling in 80 kilobux a year?) and I'm having doubts that losing 80 pounds in 80 weeks is realistic.
Well, I DID turn around and got to boogie the 8 miles home in 33 minutes...Guess it wasn't a total loss...

Man, that's like finding out a "Smoking Cessation Counseler" chain smokes...

1. Just remember:
those that can, do

those that can't, teach (or, in his case, preach)

B-)

Height and weight don't matter. It is body fat and the health of your heart and longs.(of course by longs I mean lungs: )

10. You're exactly right!
I was really making a joke to give thread originator a laugh; but, really, Dr. Phil, IMHO, is a flabby gasbag who really seems like he's quoting self-help books, so I was really off-point. There was thread originator's post vs. reality and I chose to only deal w/his post. Reality is the fact that height/weight don't matter in fitness and also, as subsequent opinions here, the fact that people all have different priorities. For instance, I prefer someone's heart to their outer facade any time! However, I also consider someone's insipid grandiosity and that's what drives me nuts about people like Dr. Phil - even that stupid name he goes by seems contrived or childish. "Dr. Phil"; tooey!

4. If your fit, don't obsess
You are getting your heart and other muscles better able to handle the extra weight. It sounds like you have a lot of weight that you want to lose, but don't worry if you don't lose all of it if you are healthy and exercise every day.

9. I have Asthma
But, I've had it all my life. I don't have any joint problems or anything yet escept for the occasional sore back. When that happens I just do some Yoga.
