Looked better after I applied Neat Image 2.5 Pro to remove the graininess, oh how I hate grain... unless it's grain as in the grain you find in cereal, like Cheerios or something... or that malt-o-meal version, you get so much more of a virtually identical product for much less, without the stupid corporate sheenanigans. the malt-o-meal people don't need to advertise; people see the product is there and buy it. If noly more corporations were as thrifty...

5. Good guess... except that isn't fractal art as you know it...

You're looking at nothing less than a scanned section of a microwaved CD-R disc (silver/top, blue Azo/bottom), complete with color reflection and color augmentation via photoshop-esque software.

My next goal is to (a) remove the light bulb in the microwave, set the camera on a tripod, and take pictures of a CD while it is being nuked. It's a gorgeous sight to see, capturing the flare on film (okay, 5 MP digital) should be worth the effort...
