During the banquet during my last night in Montgomery, I had the pleasure of sitting next to a Colonel that I had never met before.
It was really freaky, cause despite the fact that I'm, enlisted and he's a senior officer, we had a hell of a lot in common.
Our last names are similar. He works in the Pentagon and I worked there years ago. And we both have some Alabama roots. He was born there as was my grandparents.
But what struck me most about him was the fact that how we shared simular opinions on things like Faux News, The Ten Commandments, the War in Iraq and a whole bunch of other stuff. It was a very intelligent conversation between like minds, I must say.
All in all, it made me feel good to know that there are a few more of us uniform wearing types who aren't Bush worshiping, Bible-thumping, war-mongerers who think that all liberals are one step below pond scum.
The Chicken Parmesan wasn't bad either.
