Don't you love it when your dog just comes ambling in the room
from some other part of the house and looks at you like "Hey man what's up?"

Cracks me up. She looked at me in a "hey" sort of way, scratched herself, came on over, curled up at my feet.

I love my cat in a different way.

1. LOL - That look sure beats the hell of when your dog
comes amblin' in the room with a guilty look on his face. Or the very angelic, "what? what?" look.

Know what I mean?

5. Yes I know that look very well
Usually accompanied by an odor that you have to go find.

7. Yeah, that too. Mine usually have the trash in the bedroom
out of the trash and onto the floor. Or something I left out that they thought was a chew toy.

Then they come rat themselves out. Goofy.

2. Yeah, well such was the case before
Poor Al, he comes in the room, bounces off of four or five things, pants over the empty love seat for 30 seconds, then manages to figure out where I am / we are and comes over to say "Hey!", get scritched, and lay down.

3. ...I get that funny feeling in my chest when those scenarios take place.
My Siamese cats can do the same thing with me at times.

4. I think that all dogs have the "hey, what's up" gene...
It's their way of submitting without really submitting I think. Dogs just seem to need us more than cats do. I've had both, though right now I only have a dog. Cats are kinda, "aren't you lucky to be sharing my space!?"

It's all good with pets. I just gave the "world champion and still undefeated" tummy rub according to my canine friend. She's still looking at me with those adoring eyes. :-)

6. OK, but only submitting in a general sense, I think it's more of a
social thing, interacting with the rest of the "pack"

8. Just nosy... woke up from their nap and wondered where the
hell everyone else was, what they had to eat... et cetera.

10. Oh, sure;
I use "submitting," because in my case I rescued a seriously ALPHA female Akita who resisted any and all attempts at pack socialization for about a year. She loves us now, but if I told you about the growing pains!?

I shouldn't have said it for all dogs. Count me educated. :-)

9. LOL
When I came home today my cat was all curled up on my bed and looked up at me like "What the FUCK are you doing here?"

Then I talked to her and she yawned, stood up, showed me her ass as she walked away, jumped off the bed and got UNDER the bed.

Well fuck you too Clarissa! I feed you dammit!

11. LOL...too funny!
I don't mean that in a bad way. :-)

I'm just picturing my former cat doing the same thing. I swear she taught my current dog, because when she's in a snit, she reverts to the Angel Attitude: "sniff loudly, turn around, present ass."

My dog also grooms herself just like my cat used to do. (Yes, I got the dog after the cat. The dog is just confused about her species, I'm thinkin' LOL.)

14. That happens. I got a cat who was raised by a dog,
and then years later a dog who was rasied by this cat, and then two cats raised by the dog who was raised by a cat who thought she was a dog.
Jesus, what a mess.
Now I just have one dog. She knows she's a dog, and she is a good dog.
