great! Who was that - some San Antonio guys -= I knew a band that played it, but I don't think any of them were old enough to have been in the original band.

7. "I want to fuck you like an animal" by NIN
http://www.geocities.com/lostinthespiral/closertogod1.htm

Closer

You let me violate you, you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you
Help me i broke apart my insides, help me i've got no soul to sell
Help me the only thing that works for me, help me get away from myself
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god
You can have my isolation, you can have the hate that it brings
You can have my absence of faith, you can have my everything
Help me tear down my reason, help me its' your sex i can smell
Help me you make me perfect, help me become somebody else
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

Through every forest, above the trees
Within my stomach, scraped off my knees
I drink the honey inside your hive
You are the reason i stay alive

15. subtle????
"You ripple like a river when I touch you
When I pluck your body like a string
When I'm dancing inside you
You make me wanna sing."

Okay... but that was not considered subtle when it came out. And to this day, I've never heard the full version on the radio.

34. Actually from James Joyce's "Ulysses"
the last chapter is Molly Bloom's soliloquey, and ends, famously:

"...I was a flower of the mountain yes when I put the rose in my hair like the Andalusian girls used or should I say wear a red yes and how he kissed me under the Moorish wall and I thought well as well him as another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes i said yes I will Yes."

Also featured in Rodney Dangerfield's "Back to School," when the sexy professor reads it as if orgasming (which is, of course, the point) and really turns Rodney on. There is also a techno song that uses the closing to the book, as follows:

I put my arms around him - yes
and drew him down to me
so he could feel my breasts
and his heart was going like mad

13. Put another log on the fire. The song that puts sex in prospective
Put another log on the fire,
Cook me up some bacon and some beans,
Go out to the car and change the tire,
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans.
Baby, fill my pipe and then go fetch my slippers,
Boil me up another pot of tea.
Put another log on the fire, girl,
Come and tell me why you’re leaving me.

Don’t I let you wash the car on Sunday ?
Don’t I warn you when you’re getting fat ?
Hey, Fatso!
Ain’t I gonna take you fishing with me some day ?
Well, a man can’t love a woman more than that.

Ain’t I always nice to your kid sister,
Don’t I take her driving every night ?
So sit here at my feet because I like you when you’re sweet
And you know that it ain’t feminine to fight.

Put another log on the fire,
Cook me up some bacon and some beans,
Go out to the car and change the tire,
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans.

Fill my pipe and then go fetch my slippers,
Boil me up another pot of tea.
Put another log on the fire, woman,
Come and tell me why you’re leaving me.
Yeah, come and tell me why you’re leaving me

17. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
Night Moves.

I was a little too tall
Could've used a few pounds
Tight pants points hardly reknown
She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
Way up firm and high

Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my '60 Chevy
Workin' on mysteries without any clues
Workin' on our night moves
Trying' to make some front page drive-in news
Workin' on our night moves in the summertime
In the sweet summertime

We weren't in love oh no far from it
We weren't searching for some pie in the sky summit
We were just young and restless and bored
Living by the sword
And we'd steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, the alley, the trusty woods
I used her she used me
But neither one cared
We were getting our share

Workin' on our night moves
Trying to lose the awkward teenage blues
Workin' on out night moves
In the summertime
And oh the wonder
Felt the lightning
And we waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain't it funny how the night moves
When you just don't seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in

53. John lied about a lot of his songs
Mother Superior was a common term for a dealer

Jumping the gun is when someone pulls blood into the syringe to mix it with heroin before shooting it into the vein (it quickens the high)

Besides the obvious "I need a fix 'cause Im going' down"

In this time period he wrote "Everybodies got somthing to hide 'cept for me and my monkey" as well as "Cold Turkey".

Ask someone sho has shot heroin and they will tell the song even sounds like heroin.

If you've taken acid then you need no explanation of "semolina pilchard climbing up the Eiffel Tower" or "Plactecine porters with looking glass ties"

30. "Sweet Surrender" by Tim Buckley
Or anything else from "Greetings from L.A."

His voice had amazing range. On this one, he'd gone past his sensitive folky stage (although his folk stuff is excellent) to work with a band & backup singers.

I saw his show when he was touring on this album. The sensuous aura came across live.

This is one of the great unknown classic albums of all time.

A little before my time, but a time I would have loved to experience.

Whole Lotta Love:
You need coolin’, baby, I’m not foolin’,
I’m gonna send you back to schoolin’,
Way down inside honey, you need it,
I’m gonna give you my love,
I’m gonna give you my love.

Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?

You’ve been learnin’, baby, I bean learnin’,
All them good times, baby, baby, I’ve been yearnin’,
Way, way down inside honey, you need it,
I’m gonna give you my love,
I’m gonna give you my love.

Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?

(various mumblings and screechings with cool effects)

You’ve been coolin’, baby, I’ve been droolin’,
All the good times I’ve been misusin’,
Way, way down inside, I’m gonna give you my love,
I’m gonna give you every inch of my love,
Gonna give you my love.
Yeah! all right! let’s go!

Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?

Way down inside, woman,
You need love.

Shake for me, girl
I wanna be your backdoor man.
Hey, oh, hey, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Keep a-coolin’, baby,
Keep a-coolin’, baby.

49. Kissing Willie. . .
~ Jethro Tull

Breaking hearts in a market town. She eats filet of sole
and washes it down with sparkling wine.
Nice girl, but a bad girl's better. Qualifies in both ways
to my mind. But now she's kissing Willie.

She shows a leg --- shows it damn well.
Knows how to drive a man
right back to being a child.
Well, she's a --- nice girl, but her bad girl's better. I can read
it in her cheating eyes and know that in a while --- Well,
she'll be kissing Willie. (My best friend, Willie.)

Willie stands and Willie falls. Willie bangs his head
behind grey factory walls.
She's a --- nice girl, but her bad girl's better. Me and Willie
just can't help come, when she calls.
Now she's kissing Willie. (My best friend, Willie.)

51. More Tull
Hunting Girl:

One day I walked the road and crossed a field
to go by where the hounds ran hard.
And on the master raced: behind the hunters chased
to where the path was barred.
One fine young lady's horse refused the fence to clear.
I unlocked the gate but she did wait until the pack had disappeared.

Crop handle carved in bone;
sat high upon a throne of finest English leather.
The queen of all the pack,
this joker raised his hat and talked about the weather.
All should be warned about this high born Hunting Girl.
She took this simple man's downfall in hand;
I raised the flag that she unfurled.

Boot leather flashing and spurnecks the size of my thumb.
This highborn hunter had tastes as strange as they come.
Unbridled passion: I took the bit in my teeth.
Her standing over --- me on my knees underneath.

My lady, be discrete.
I must get to my feet and go back to the farm.
Whilst I appreciate you are no deviate,
I might come to some harm.
I'm not inclined to acts refined, if that's how it goes.
Oh, high born Hunting Girl,
I'm just a normal low born so and so.

Or..

Velvet Green

Walking on velvet green. Scots pine growing.
Isn't it rare to be taking the air, singing.
Walking on velvet green.
Walking on velvet green. Distant cows lowing.
Never a care: with your legs in the air, loving.
Walking on velvet green.
Won't you have my company, yes, take it in your hands.
Go down on velvet green, with a country man.
Who's a young girls fancy and an old maid's dream.
Tell your mother that you walked all night on velvet green.
One dusky half-hour's ride up to the north.
There lies your reputation and all that you're worth.
Where the scent of wild roses turns the milk to cream.
Tell your mother that you walked all night on velvet green.
And the long grass blows in the evening cool.
And August's rare delight may be April's fool.
But think not of that, my love,
I'm tight against the seam.
And I'm growing up to meet you down on velvet green.
Now I may tell you that it's love and not just lust.
And if we live the lie, let's lie in trust.
On golden daffodils, to catch the silver stream
that washes out the wild oat seed on velvet green.
We'll dream as lovers under the stars ---
of civilizations raging afar.
And the ragged dawn breaks on your battle scars.
As you walk home cold and alone upon velvet green.
Walking on velvet green. Scots pine growing.
Isn't it rare to be taking the air, singing.
Walking on velvet green.
Walking on velvet green. Distant cows lowing.
