WWE Fans: Is Eugene really mentally handicapped?

My brother is right behind me watching his favorite program, WWE. Occasionaly I catch a glimpse of it, and it has come to my attention there is a newer wrestler who is supposedly mentally handicapped. I don't know what to think, because it's great if he is that they employeed him, but some of the tricks they play on him are awful. If he isn't, is it right for there to be someone like that making fun of the mentally ill, considering I have a sister who is? Just wondering.

It's just an act. Nick Dinsmore, the guy who plays him has about a dozen other characters. If "Eugene" actually was "retarded," the McMahon family would have been lynched the second "Eugene" was introduced. Anyway, Dinsmore has been around forever and
"Eugene" is his newest character.

Just to let you in on a little secret, a lot of wrestling is fake.

Like the Undertaker? He's not actually dead.

"Eugene" is a very controversial character among wrestling fans. Lots of people think it's fucked up to have a "retarded" character. I think it's pretty fucked up, personally. I think it crosses a line.

But the object of pro wrestling is to shock people, draw publicity to itself and entertain people. And the McMahon family are billionaires because they're first rate entertainers, like the Ringley Brothers.
