to endorse Chimpy. It was last weekend's editorial:

George W. Bush was such a good governor of Texas because he surrounded himself with truly outstanding people and listened to their advice. Once he became president, however, he surrounded himself with extremely conservative and hawkish men such as Donald Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft and Dick Cheney. Unfortunately, President Bush chose to listen to them to the exclusion of more moderate voices, including Secretary of State Colin Powell. And now the president is unwilling to say that perhaps some things could have been — should have been — done differently. We all know the problems we face, even if President Bush is unwilling to acknowledge them.
That said, we have no clue whom John Kerry would listen to if elected. He and his vice presidential candidate, John Edwards, don’t seem to have a particularly close relationship. We do know that Kerry is one of the most liberal members of the Senate and most likely a Kerry administration would echo his philosophies, but we just don’t have a clue.
This election seems to be shaping up as an anybody-but-Bush, anybody-but-Kerry race.
This country deserves better. The Eagle cannot recommend either President Bush or John Kerry for president.
I'm in Victoria. When we voted in the 1994 midterms, there were 500 votes cast in our precinct. Only four, including me and my husband, were cast for Democratic Party candidates! So I feel for you, only having had 9 members in your Ag Dem Club. I have a Kerry sticker on my car, but no yard signs. The newspaper has a LTTE today from someone whose K/E yard signs and bumper stickers have been vandalized.
