What Happened to Larry King?

I'm showing my age here, but there was a time in the late 70s and 80s when Larry King was a national over-night radio talk show host. He was a very Liberal firebrand, much like Air America's Randi Rhodes. He would get into screaming matches with conservatives on the air. He was great.

Then, he signed on to be a CNN talk show host, and ever since, he's become just another media whore. So, what happened to Larry King?

I used to respect Miller for his fearless attacks on injustice and political corruption. To see him shilling for the very thing he seemed to so despise is really disappointing.

You would do what your producers ask, or you'd be back on radio, like Randi Rhodes.

Money talks, and he ain't rocking the boat. He has the ratings.

I thought Bryant Gumbell, on HBO's: Real Sports, said something eloquent the other night. He asked (and i'm paraphrasing) "What happened to athletes's political views? During the vietnam war, there were all too many athletes willing to express their political views (Don Brown, etc.). You don't hear too much from athletes these days, when their opinions would have a huge impact on their fans about politics."

It's all about the cash, mang.
