"Dylan: Don't Look Back" on Discovery Times Channel now
through 2 am ET and again at 5. I guess they finally ran out of Saddam-oriented programming.

1. "Keep a cool head and always carry a lightbulb...."
Love that movie....I just bought a bootleg DVD of "Eat the Document" a few weeks ago (from the '66 tour.)

2. In 'Eat the Document'
is there a scene where Dylan and his sidekick try to 'buy' a girlfriend away from her boyfriend - I swear I read that somewhere? If so - I find that kind strange.

3. Well, Richard Manuel is the sidekick.
And yes, there is that scene...but it's obviously comedy, a prank; the whole film is like a joke on Stan Brakhage with a killer soundtrack....Dylan's satirical attempt at French New Wave/Warholian cinema.....but the scene in question is much like the scene in the "Blues Brothers" where Belushi leers at the nice family at the nice restaurant, "I want to buy your weeeemin! How much for the leeetle gurl?!"

I seriously doubt there was anything more to it than that.

5. my favorite scene
Is where he excoriates the Time magazine reporter. For anyone who thinks media whoredom is a new phenomenom, check out this scene.
