flashing red and blue lights - not scary, but odd
Police apparently pulled some guy over... but the guy pulled in my driveway. My street is kind of crowded parking-wise, but still :wtf:

I have so few friends left in this town, I'm tempted to go out and introduce myself. Maybe hit on the kid that's getting the ticket. "Is that a traffic citation in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?" <crickets chirping>

3. they cuffed the driver! and more weirdness
There is a younger kid with him I didn't see at first, he looks about 10-12. I guess the older kid (driver) has a warrant out for drugs. (Yes, Billings: Cranktown, USA according to Time Magazine.) The younger kid's mom is coming to get him.

Here's the weird thing: when one of the cops came to my door to tell me wtf was going on, he said the driver wouldn't allow the cops to move the car, so they are calling a TOW TRUCK?!? Which should be here in 30 minutes.

Meanwhile there are now four policemen outside, staring at the car in my driveway. It's like the most boring episode of COPS ever.

4. 3 years ago on CHRISTMAS , a "neighbor" rang the bell and announced
that he had taken a bottle of sleeping pills and was thirsty...could I get him a drink of water.. (We have a board & care home for mentally ill people down the street).. Apparently this young guy had tried to kill himself before (I found this out later)..

I asked him to sit on the porch bench and I would get him some iced tea.. I called 9-11 and then went out and sat with him til they arrived..

They asked him a few questions, and as they led him to the ambulance that had arrived, he turned around and said "Bye, Mom."

One of the cops came back and asked if I was his mom.. I had never seen him before, but I found out later that his parents were dead and he had been in and out of institutions.. We did not see him again.:(
