Just got through makin' some catheads.

and frying up some sausage for my son's breakfast tomorrow. He can nuke those babies and have a great home-cooked meal.

For those of you not from the south, catheads are big-ass, homemade, from-scratch biscuits.

Or is it not even a southern thing, but an east Texas thing?

What regional terms for food and drink do you guys use that would distress or discombobulate the rest of us?

And ain't ever heard biscuits refered to as anything other than biscuits.

3. I'm not in East Texas anymore, but lived in Longview

for years--Gladewater to be precise.

Biscuits are biscuits, but gigantasaurus biscuits are catheads. I didn't create the term, just passing it along :-)

Where in east Texas are you? I grew up in east Texas, but don't remember ever hearing that one. I grewup in Nacawhatsis, or as some others describe it, Nacanowhere. :hippie:

Never heard of bicuits called catheads. Did a quick search on some food sites and couldn't find it either. Must be a very small region.

I, like JChild live in Mississippi, and have been eating "cathead" biscuits all my life. Just means they big, delicious, and not perfectly shaped.

Wish I had one with some strawberry jam right now...
