What's the oddest political dream you've ever had?
I'm still a little weirded out over this election-oriented dream from last night. It was one of those vivid "I swear this isn't a dream" nightmares where when I woke up, I was convinced it was still real.

In my dream, I had come home to watch tonight's debate, only to turn on the yapping pundits and see a still image on the screen: George H.W. Bush 1924 - 2004 . "Oh sweet Jesus," I thought. "Poppy croaked." Of course, the debate was canceled, and the Bush camp began spinning that Chimpy was too heartbroken to continue campaigning. The media played the sympathy card, bringing on puke-worthy statements of how Poppy's dying wish was for his son to be re-elected, like he never was (they even aired a video tape of him on his death bed saying this). That's when it hit me... they killed H.W. This was the October surprise, and we were all blindsided by it. Bush's poll numbers shot up as the nation 'felt' for him. John Kerry was painted as mean, mean man for continuing to attack the mourning Bush.

I woke up in a cold sweat, feeling like the election was lost, and it wasn't until I got on DU was I really certain that it was just a dream.

What were some of your odd political dreams/nightmares?

1. On the eve of Clinton's inauguration...
...I had a dream that my Dad was about to be inaugurated.

Somewhere in my subconcious, I must have internalized a comment I had heard earlier that day: "Wow... it's going to be great to have Clinton in the White House, someone from our parents' generation and not our grandparents'. It's like having your Dad in the Oval Office."

:-)

2. I don't know if this counts but...
...I once dreamed that I was sharing a house with a bunch of people and one of my housemates was Ann Coulter. There were quite a few cats in the household and we were all trying to figure out who owned which cat. One cat in particular belonged to Ann and when we realized it we all took an immediate disliking to the cat and avoided it.

3. My wife tells me that I was looking under my pillow on Tuesday
looking for my debate notes. Weird. I must spend too much time here.
