12. This was also referenced Saturday Night Live, therefore it can't be clever
SNL sucks the cleverness out of things.

Pretty strange that he was already so attuned to geopolitical affairs.

22. That seemed so clever at the time
But really it never was so clever at all. Gwen Ifil is the arbiter of cleverness here, and she tells Senator Edwards that he has sixty-two seconds to speak unanswered about what he wants to do with regards to welfare, but he has to hop on one foot and keep one eye closed.

And one hand tied behind his back... oh... and also never roll his eyes, as impossible as it would be for any of US to not do that with all the lying going on. :)

But I don't much care for smileys.

19. Clever is purely the decision of the reader. So perhaps what is not
clever to you is clever to another.

27. Well, all clever things could be said to partake of the form 'cleverness'
And then they are clever in a perfectly objective way. But then if the form 'cleverness' is itself clever, it cannot partake of itself and therefore an endless series of metaforms would be created that would collapse the system and throw all of existence into perpetual chaos.

29. I think the cleverest response to this would be to avoid it altogether
But whereas no one who does so can prove he/she did so without communicating as much to me, we are back where we started. If one remarks on one's not remarking on this thread, that once removed remark is still in essence a remark on my thread, and its cleverness would therefore be in doubt.
