I'm very torn as far as baseball goes (Twins and BoSox fans, PLEASE READ!)

I generally don't like baseball nowadays, but whenever my two old favourite teams from my youth (Red Sox and Twins) are in the playoffs, I just can't help but follow the playoffs.

So right now, I'm torn between the Sox and Twins, because I just KNOW that those two teams will be meeting in the ALCS. I'm an old Sox fan (because I'm a Vikings fan, and know what it means to be cursed), and I used to root for the Twins when I was little too.

So, here's the deal. All you Twins and BoSox fans use this thread to try to convince me why I should cheer for your team. Winner gets a virtual special smiley.

4. Red Sox, I feel for ya,

I really do. You've taken enough shit from the Bronx Bombers to last 100 generations. You are as deserving as any team to be in the playoffs. But if we should meet in the ACLS all niceties will be put aside.
With the memories of Bob Allison and the Killer, Tony O, and Rod Carew, one of the greatest hitters of all time still shining brightly in my mind we cannot let this opportunity slip away. We give no quarter to anyone. To get to the World Series you've gotta go through the Minnesota Twins.

2. Well.....

It's impossible for both the Twins and the Red Sox to meet... because then one of them would have to win! You should root for the Sox because it is an omen about the election.

3. I kinda know what you mean

I'm a die hard Twins fan....but have a soft spot in my heart for the Sox. If someone is gonna beat the Twins...I'd prrefer it be the Red Sox so I have someone I can really root for in the Series.

Plus, if the Twins win the Series, it'll be another poke in the eye for Bud "Contract them Twins" Selig.
