1. Man, I hate those Keaton-Durante films!
Durante is so graceless. I think working with him must have been painful for Keaton.

If TCM is playing them, I hope they'll make time to screen more of Keaton's classic work.

2. I agree, not his best work, but still fun to watch.
They save the good stuff for Sunday nights.

3. You absolutely HAVE to see "The General"
Not only gut-busting funny, but one heckuva spectacular movie (for that time) also.

10. I've seen "The General" probably two dozen times or more...
And with each viewing I am more in awe of Keaton's art.

It was fun! It continues again next week.

7. No, I was out all evening with an old friend
Didn't know it was on, or I would have taped it, but I'm glad it will be on next week too. Too bad I missed it tonight. Damn! :grr:

9. Thanks - I adore Buster
The Durante films were really painful for him...he had lost his studio to MGM and was going through a painful divorce, and he was drinking a lot. Poor guy. But I love all his films, even those awful talkies.

I once came across an old movie made in Mexico in which he was dressed like a wizard for some reason. I couldn't follow it...he delivered his lines in Spanish like everyone else. I watched it anyway. :)
