How do you ship a bottle of wine?
I'd like to send a botle of wine to various people. Are there wine bottle boxes or something for me to use?

2. There are shipping boxes especially made for wine.

Go to one of the search engines and search for the exact phrase, "wine shippers" -- or you could call UPS or FedEx and ask if they have the boxes. A liquor/wine store might also be able to help you out.

6. Check w/UPS or Fed EX first
some states are a little picky about people shipping wine into their state. I know that there are problems shipping from wineries in California to states in the Midwest.

The USPS may be even pickier about shipping alcohol in general.

7. Go to your local shipping agent
Kinkos or whatever. They have special shipping boxes. They also have a list of states to which wine may not be shipped.

There are some weird states and some weird shipping laws, which slowly but surely are being straightened out. I have on occasion prepacked the wine and shipped to those states without mentioning that wine is in the package. If you are shipping a small amount, this usually works.

10. Go to your local wine shop
They'll know, and will usually do it for you. We have a local place that is really good about stuff like this...

The main problem is states have transport regulations that often prevent people from shipping wine.
