Computer geeks - I have a stupid Word question

It's been a long time since I've used Word. I opened up and created a new document. In addition to the cursor, I have an annoying horizontal line. It moves with the cursor, but it stays on that furtherest line down. I guess it's marking the length of the doc or whatever. I hate it (the line and Word). Is there a way to get rid of it?

1. Switch to print layout

Choose "view" then "print layout"

I was pulling my hair out going through all the other possible options.

2. Your view property can be adjusted

from normal to web or print and the line under the cursor goes away.


As for the rest of it, I find Microsoft to be as irritating as hell and I can't help you with that.

3. Try a different View setting

In Normal view I believe the underscore below the cursor is always there.
