Help! I need a mojito and I need it now!!!
Problem is I'm going to a book club meeting. That in itself isn't a problem - but they are fixing Thai food and will be drinking wine! What do I do? (Oh - the other problem is that I am at work but I'm leaving soon.)

15. LOL, well thanks for the tip!
There is a restaurant in Seattle called Mojitos, though I've never been there. Maple Leaf Grill makes GREAT mojitos, though.

5. Here goes...
1 teaspoon sugar
2 sprigs of fresh mint
1 squeeze of lime juice
2 oz. light rum
splash of club soda
ice cubes

Place sugar and mint in a tall glass and using the back of a spoon, mash the mint leaves into the sugar. Add the remaining ingredients, mix, and serve.

You can substitute simple syrup for the sugar, if want.

I like the Hemingway tie-in. It will help justify my having it at the book club while the rest of them are eating their Thai food......

13. A friend makes the BEST mint-infused syrup.
She uses it for juleps, but 'twould be just as good in a mojito.
