Oh, goody. I still feel like crap but today I'm at work!
I never, ever feel this crappy two days in a row, but I couldn't call in today (though I probably can cut out midday if absolutely necessary).

I'm still blaming the Capitol Steps, and also everyone who said they were sick too, for surely whatever the hell it is I've got is contagious through the Internet.

</whine vent>

So, what's pissing the rest of you off today?

1. I have to finish packing up my office.
I'm moving from my wonderful hard-wall office, with window, to a cube farm. The new building is almost literally a stone's throw from my house, so maybe I can walk when it isn't 5 million degrees outside, so the news isn't ALL bad. It'll restrict my DUing on company time though. :-(

But hey, at least I still have a job.

2. Itinerant cube-farmer...the horror!
Say it ain't so!

As a Texas taxpayer, I did NOT approve that move. Tell your boss. ;-)

4. Hey...since the office is so close...maybe I can just work from home.
If they really need me, I can be there in 5 minutes.

My home office/2nd bedroom/den has TWO windows. :D I'd get at least as much done at home as I get done here. :7

8. Your post count would skyrocket!

I tell ya, I had to make the move to cube dweller after many years in an enclosed office and it's no fun. At least my current one has me sitting facing the pathway so I can see when the boss is approaching and toggle over to e-mail or a spreadsheet or something.

On edit: spelling module apparently on the fritz today :eyes:

9. I hate, hate, hate having my back to the walkway.
I'll have to figure something out so I can spot those who would attempt to sneak up on me.

Whee! Hijacking is fun! :bounce:

11. I'm honored that you'd jack my thread.
Only a semi-jack, though, as I did invite bitching and whining (misery loves company and all that).

I mounted a CD on my monitor when I did work back to the door -- it worked as a mirror. (I understand that there are companies that sell rear-view mirrors for cube dwellers.)

15. What stinks the most is that I have someone directly across from me.
And she is known as the "all business" type. If they would just stagger the doorways a bit, that would make me feel better. Then a rear-view mirror would be all I'd need.

16. go to an auto parts store and get a self-adhesive fish-eye mirror
then mount it where you can easily keep it in view -- ! works like a charm. Tell 'em you need it to keep your lipstick fresh . . .

tell 'em the truth. You don't want any anal-probing aliens sneaking up behind you . . .

3. Wow, that sucks.
I currently have half of a three-person office (my assistant editor and the assistant on another magazine split the other half; everything within the office divided by partitions). It's hard enough to work in here when one of the guys is prattling on about his wedding and the other is offering counsel to the many troubled youth in his church (but they both get their work done, at least). I'd have trouble in a cube farm.

7. Tomorrow.
My boss came in to ask me how I felt and re-schedule the meeting, I told him that my immune system wasn't achieving its full potential and it would need to undergo a paradigm shift in order to achieve maximum productivity.

I don't think he got it.

6. I'm still kind of sick too
But I did the NyQuil thing last night and slept a LOT, so I am feeling a bit better.

The worst indignity was that I got up to go to a meeting yesterday morning at work and was stood up! :grr: Yesterday morning I could barely talk and was running a fever, so again... :grr:

Hope you feel better too. I think I'll also blame the Capitol Steps for my illness.:hi:

10. Glad you feel better.
:hi:

I'm gonna be super-pissed if my 10 o'clock gets cancelled. That's really the only reason I'm here at all. (That, and if I were to take two consecutive days off, I'd get all sorts of intrusive questions upon my return -- not because my co-workers are assholes, but because I never stay sick for more than a day.)
