3. I'm seriously thinking...

about growing some...Just enough for me and my friends. Not to sell. I don't really need the money but I'm tired of going through all the trouble of paying some guy or girl 50 bucks for an 1/8 of something I can grow. Plus I've been reading alot about specific kinds of pot I think I would like to grow for different effects.

5. I once had one plant...

a friend gave it to me when she was really young, and she grew up to over 5 feet. It was my first time growing and it didn't turn up very good... but if I ever decide to grow again I know what should and shouldn't be done. It wasn't a very high quality seed either, so it was good for starters.

I've never bought seeds, but I've read about several nice websites where you can find lots of different species. Try www.seedsdirect.to if you decide to grow your own.

Personally I think growing your own is the best thing you can do... you're not giving money to dealers, getting stressed out because you can't find any, or paying artificially high prices for something you can do yourself. Plus, it is probably healthier since you are sure it isn't contaminated with anything else.

I picked out the palest seeds(I was reading online at it was saying that the green ones are no good)I could find and now have them sitting between some paper towels. Givem a few days to germinate then plant.

7. just don't get obsessed with the plants...

they are beautiful, but everyone tends to over-protect them in every way... don't over water them, don't over fertilize them, don't stare at them all day long. They are pretty strong plants, and sometimes are better off if you leave them alone.

Are you planning to grow them indoors or outdoors?

9. you can start with a couple of fluorescents for the seedlings...

after 3 weeks or so you will need something stronger, though... usually HID lamps are recommended for a good yield.

Also, there are several interesting growing methods to avoid plants getting very tall. It is better to have small bushy plants, and not tall and thin plants... it allows you to better distribute light.

I strongly recommend Overgrow... you will learn LOTS of tips for the whole process, from taking care of seedlings, to curing the buds.

While I have nothing personal involved in this thread, I do find it a tad unrealistic to discuss the growing of illegal substances on DU.
