I just had my wisdom teeth taken out, ask me anything
I'll answer until I pass out from pain or the percocet.

4. You should be feeling no pain with the percocet
You'll feel better soon. Try not to rub your teeth over the holes it will drive you crazy.

Don't drink alcohol tonight, thins the blood out too much and your gums might bleed.

8. Has the anesthesia worn off yet?
It took me half a day to get over it. Went right to bed once I was home.

21. Really
I can't remember if I slept in the recovery room . . . I actually don't remember the drive back home. They're really serious when they say don't drive after anesthesia.

9. You have no wisdom (teeth), why should we come to you for answers?
lol, ouch! hope it all goes well and is relatively painless - or, at best, they gave you good drugs.

10. Have you said anything weird yet?
I had mine out 9 months ago, and my husband still laughs at the things I said in the car on the drive home.

14. No I can only really mumble with the gauze.
I'm sure my bf will laugh at the drooling though.

12. Did you have local or general anesthesia?
I had local and it shortened my recovery time considerably (I get very nauseous with general, so I skip it unless there's no other choice -- other people tolerate it much better, I know).

Feel better!

15. General. First time for it. So we'll see
I'm 28. I read that the recovery starts getting harder after 25 or so. I hope to defy that statistic.

19. My dad had them out in his 50s and it was OK.
If you're not feeling like death from the general right now, you won't (at least if you don't react how I react). I get nauseous immediately upon waking and it takes two or three days to shake.

Good luck!

22. How the hell are you still awake?
When I had mine pulled out, I was in a percoset-induced coma for three days.

24. Did they have to break any?
Two of mine had to be taken out in pieces. Of course, nobody warned me about this beforehand. The drugs didn't knock me out completely, and the sudden *CRUNCH* almost woke me up mid-op.

BTW, you're going to want two or three pairs of small ice packs. Baggies filled with frozen peas work nicely; just don't ever try to eat the peas afterwards. Hold a pair of them against your cheeks for two hours, then take them off for two hours. Repeat. It'll keep down the swelling.

26. I had 5 taken out when I was 15.
Yes, I said 5. I had an extra one top left (does that mean I had more wisdom then?). They hadn't even emerged yet, but they ripped them out because my mouth was too small for them to fit. :wtf:

I know your pain!

Do you have the wonderful little spittle tray under your chin right now?
