A Thank You to DU!

I just want a round of kudos to Democratic Underground for its great work in general, and the forums in particular. As someone who has been on a wide variety of other discussion boards over the past seven or so years, I want to praise the guys for putting together a truly superior interface here, that doesn't let down its users with weak "upgrades" which make more problems than help, that doesn't erase members or destroy their post count at the drop of a hat, and that doesn't punish us by putting a thousand pop-up ads on it and most assuredly respects its users in an excellent fashion!

Indeed, the organization here is readily apparent, with a neat and respectable appearance, and no chaotic looking threads with no way to determine what was posted by who, and when. Instead, DUs method of dealing with threads is one of the best and least confusing I've seen in a very long time.

After suffering through numerous problems with other web boards, it's relaxing to come to DU and be able to find information easily and with very little effort, and to see that others can do the same.

Let's hear it for DU!!! :D

4. DU was my first message board.

I had no experience with any others. Now when I see others, I can't believe how bad they are, especially Free Republic. That board is impossible to follow, makes no sense (from a navigation standpoint, we know their views make no sense either!), and is just not eye-pleasing.

Hooray for DU. I lurked for a while and discovered it is a very civilized board and that I had something to contribute on occasion. So I signed up and have not regreted it.

It's great that you took the time to express your gratitude to and for DU.

Even when it's wild and wooly in the GD boards, DU is still a friendly place, and is populated with some of the brightest, funniest, most engaged, most wonderfully irreverent people it has been my pleasure to encounter.
