Haven't been to Spain for 5 years. Barcelona rocks - get up to the Pyrenees if possible (tomato instead of butter on bread - and it's GREAT). Madrid is just like any other big European city, and best left alone - or just 'cruised thru'.

15. Going out is mainly pretty late at night; pack at least one cotton sweater

or anyway a warm, comfortable one, or whatever the '04 equivalent of a smoking jacket is. I'm a sweater boy myself.
