When even a Hummer2 won't enhance your penis...
http://money.cnn.com/2004/09/13/pf/autos/monster_truck/index.htm?cnn=yes

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - For the driver looking for more of a pickup -- one that dwarfs the Hummer and Ford F-350 -- Navistar has just the ride for you.

The CXT, the new monster pickup from heavy truck maker Navistar.
The new CXT, short for commercial extreme truck and built from the same platform as the heavy truck maker's typical tow truck or cement mixer, will be sold starting this week by Navistar's International Truck & Engine subsidiary.

At 258 inches, or 21-1/2 feet long, the CXT's about 4-1/2 feet longer than the new Hummer H2 pickup, and about 2 inches longer than the F-350 Crew Cab. But it really towers over what's on the road now is in height, at 108 inches, or 11 feet, a foot above a basketball rim and more than two feet taller than the Hummer or the F-350.

"It's not going to fit into the standard garage," said Mark Oberle, a spokesman for Navistar, based in Warrenville, Ill., outside Chicago. "We can see it a as a vehicle for business people who want to make distinct impression. For personal use, it's for people who want to make a statement."

1. Man, we need to start requiring special licences and insurance
If someone driving one of these things hit me, and I could still walk, I would slit the mother fucker's throat.

6. I think that's a good idea. I would propose a special
license for any vehicle heavy enough to be exempt from CAFE standards.

23. Beleive it requires a Class B Commercial Licence
At 26000lb GVWmax I beleive you will need a commercial licence or state issued equivalent to drive it. Unless you intend to register it as a camper/recreational vehical.

Somehow I can't picture the average person completing the 96 pt undercarriage inspection part of the licence exam, just to drive one of these.

I wish I had one. I'd take out the first one of these I'd see.

And this is why 1000+ men and women have lost their lives in Iraq...so far? So obscentities like this truck can be made?

giant SUV "arms-race", until we're all driving tanks.

We were joking, dammit. Joking!

7. It reminds me of that Hyundai commercial
where people are running around doing all their normal day to day activities in their "SUV" - construction equipment.

Any person who buys one of these things is a dick. Pure and simple. And thinks with theirs too.

9. 108 inches = 11 feet? Try again. If it's 11 feet tall that's 132 inches
108" is 9 Feet tall. Apparently CNN has purchased "bush*s Fuzzy Math for repuke ass-kissers". This explains their "poll" results.

10. The people who buy that don't need a penis extension
They need a fucking brain extension.

That is the STUPIDEST FUCKING THING I've ever seen.

And I can just see thousands of morons with more money than brains lining up to buy it.

You can't even drive that POS into a parking garage or your home garage.

They'll have to add a special garage onto their hideous McMansions.

15. That is the stupidest thing I have seen since the H2!
We're at peak oil, if we haven't already passed it, and the vehicles just keep getting bigger and bigger and using more and more of a finite natural resource. Plus, monstrosities like this are a menace on the roads, as a collision with one of these things would undoubtedly kill whoever was hit. Just another sterling example of the "fuck you" mentality that has taken over most of society.

19. What the fuck is wrong with people?
That makes my eye twitch. It's just obscene. Why not just drive a garbage truck or a semi to work? What kind of moron sees that vehicle and says "I have to have that one!"? I can just see it now, in the itty bitty cramped Chicago parking lots, some bimbo Barbie wife of a real estate developer talking on her cell phone while she drives this thing with one hand and finally decides to take up three parking spots and half the driveway so she can stop and pick up a latte. I see this on a daily basis with Hummers and Navigators, why not this gigantic piece of shit? AAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 01:43 PM by BiggJawn
Over 20,000 pounds, and you'll need a CDL and keep a logbook, AND be limited to no more than 10 hours behind the wheel before taking 4 hours off....

It weighs 14,000 empty...

28. Shouldn't need Logbook
As long as you are not using the vehical for commercial purposes you shouldn't need to keep the log or be limited by hours. But you will need the tax stamps and have to stop for scales. IIRC
The GVWM has to be at least 26000 with the 12000lb payload capacity.

29. Aha! "Commercial Purposes"
Since most of the needle-dicked bug-fuckers who will buy these abominations will be painting their company name on the side to get that $100,000 tax write-off......

I had to tow a trailer to Denver once for the station i worked for. the only thing Penske had w/a trailer hitch was a 24,000#-plated, 4 MPG GMC "Topkick" 24' str8 truck. I played dumb and bypassed a few scales till I hit one that said "ALL trucks over 20,000 GVWR MUST enter Scales"... the cop took pity on me, showed me how to fill out a log (he just happened to have a blank one handy)and told me how long i could drive B4 I had to park for a while...

I was never so damn mad in my LIFE as when I got back home, especially since I had to pay for everything out of pocket, to be reimbursed later. I almost didn't have enough money to get to denver, not at 4 MPG....

BTW, that THING was a POS to drive. It rode like...like....well, like a TRUCK! DUH!!!!

30. OK, so they...
put a nice interior

and a tilting pickup bed

on a dump truck.

And get a luxury dump truck.

It may put a crimp into the sales of Doolies to assholes, but even International doesn't think they'll sell a lot of them.

They do warn you to check with your state about whether it's a truck or a car. I don't think too many assholes would want to give the country club valet the keys to a commercial vehicle.
