16. Goddammit
That is not Akasha! :argh:

Don't get me wrong, I liked Aaliyah. A lot. But she was *not* Akasha. And certainly not with that ridiculous Trans-faux-vanian accent. Akasha was an ancient Sumerian princess and queen of Kemet.

This is probably the most ridiculous casting choice since Antonio Banderas as Armand in the Interview movie. Don't get me started on this movie.

21. What???
Aaliyah was perfect for Akasha! She had the look down to a t! She was exactly how I pictured Akasha.

But yeah, I agree with you about how dumb it was to use Antonio Banderas as Armand. Armand was a sixteen year old boy with long hair and a high voice (he was a castrati, poor guy). Antonio doesn't fit that profile at all.

22. Wow
Couldn't disagree more. Wish I still had some links to fan art sites before Anne Rice got all obnoxious about fan works. Superficially she looked nothing like the description in the books (though no one really did in that movie, from Lestat on down, except maybe Pandora & Armand). But more importantly girlfriend just could not act--and I liked her in Romeo Must Die. Between her TEHSEXY!!!111 slinking around the screen and chewing scenery with her Trans-faux-vanian accent, I felt like I was assaulted by bricks of Velveeta. Sorry Aaliyah, but no. It's a damn shame that movie is the last thing she will be remembered for, because I think if she would have gotten some more practice/coaching she could have been a really decent actress.
