Poll question: Do you participate in a Fantasy Football League?
How many of you have joined a Fantasy Football League?

I think they are really a lot of fun. It gives a person a reason to watch other games than your favorite team. And since I am a Lions fan... I need another reason to stay interested...:-)

12. The Lions offense will be 2nd in the NFC North this year
Behind, obviously, the Minnesota Vikings.

Look for the Bears to have the No. 1 defense this year. They have the most underrated secondary and linebacking corps in the NFL. Just their interior defensive line worries me (is the Tommie Harris/Tank Johnson rookie tandem ready to replace Traylor/Robinson or surpass Washington/Traylor ?)

14. Bears make the playoffs
and their secondary and linebacking crop may be underrated to most but I feel that they have both an awesome linebacking crop and secondary unit. But they will be in the top 5 in total defense, don't know about #1 though.

17. Oops, I meant No. 1 in the NFC North
They'll probably finish somewhere between 3 and 7 in the NFC. If Azumah were healthy, I might put it second or third.

7. Don't feel sorry for us Lions fans!
Like I told the whiners down in Florida, you make your choice you live with it.

You choose to live to Florida and build your home out of straw or sticks, don't come whining to me when the big bad wolf comes blowing at your door.

Me, I've built my football dreams on smoke, mirrors and Matt Millen.

Long before he had his TV show, Tim Allen told me, "The Lions are comedy."

Nothing truer was ever said.

15. Duece Staley is a good pick. A smart pick.

I see a good year for him w/ the steelers.

I got for my main picks (small league):
D. Culpepper
 WR C. Johnson
 WR T. Owens
 RB S. Jackson
 RB D. Staley
 TE K. Winslow
 WR/RB C. Dillon

Took a risk with two rookies, and SJ is #2 behind Faulk on the Rams depth chart, but I think he'll see lots of time. Besides he's a Beav, and so is Chad Johnson. Automatic.

16. Three leagues! Here are my teams:
In the league with my buddies:
(unfortunately, this is the league in which I drafted Ricky Williams a few days before he "retired." I had to practically start from scratch after I lost him)

Starters:
QB - Jeff Garcia
RB - Chris Brown
RB - Marshall Faulk
WR - Darrell Jackson
WR - Peerless Price
TE - Jeremy Shockey
K - David Akers
DST - Patriots (Defense/Special Teams)

Backups:

Joey Harrington (QB), Julius Jones (RB), Keyshawn Johnson (WR), Eric Moulds (WR), Charles Rogers (WR), Randy McMichael (TE)

I'm basically hoping for Harrington and Rogers to have a breakout year so I can bench Garcia and start Harrington, and have a failsafe if my starters and Keyshawn break down.

In the DU league (I missed the draft):
Backups in <>

QB - Marc Bulger <Rich Gannon>
RB - Clinton Portis <Onterrio Smith>
RB - Travis Henry
WR - Chad Johnson <Keenan McCardell>
WR - Andre Johnson <Roy Williams>
TE - Jeremy Shockey <Daniel Graham>
WR/RB - Duce Staley
K - Jeff Wilkins <Jay Feely>
DEF - Tennessee <New Orleans>

And in the other league with my friends, a keeper league:
Backups in <>

QB - Michael Vick <Kyle Boller>
RB - Corey Dillon <Moe Williams, Onterrio Smith>
RB - Garrison Hearst (16 team league and I got screwed at RB2)
WR - Javon Walker <Rod Gardner>
TE - Todd Heap <Desmond Clark>
WR/TE - Jerry Porter <Desmond Clark, Quincy Morgan>
K - Paul Edinger
DEF - Carolina

21. Lions fan -- that's the spirit
Do-or-die Lions' fan? Good for you! I'm a do-or-die Chargers' fan.

I'm also an Angels' fan in good times or bad, and you know how that turned out two years ago. O8) So: Go, Lions!

PS I appreciated your response in my job rant last night. :hi:

23. hubby does it every year
for the last 10 or so. makes him an ass every sunday, monday and thursday for a few hours, instead of just the days the bears play a meaningful game. sucks. it's better now that they do it on espn, so that he can check his score, and not have to keep track himself. at least he usually does ok, and has probably broken even over all.
