Watched two great dog-themed DVD's last night
First was "Dogville", which I liked a LOT more than I expected I would. What a cast - Nicole Kidman, Lauren Bacall, Philip Baker Hall, James Caan, John Hurt, Blaire Brown, Siobhan Fallon, Paul Bettany, Patricia Clarkson.....

The second, to repair the mood, was "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog" - a collection of a LOT of his appearances on Conan and his on-site reporting. We haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

Check 'em both out! Make a night of it!

2. Hey, I saw two dog-themed DVDs too.
I watched "Dogville" and "The Best of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog" this weekend.

4. Triumph almost killed me.
In fact, I've been on about him all day. Just hearing him ask Simon Cowell of American Idol, "Who the HELL do you think you are?" made my weekend.

5. The whole thing was bust-a-gut funny
I'd seen just a couple of his pieces before - the bon Jovi one and the Star Wars one. But good God, Smigel is a fucking genius. We had to pause it at least 8 times so we could stop and laugh without missing the next joke.

7. I also saw a Chris Rock DVD...
...called "Never Scared". After I watched Triumph I actually think that Triumph is funnier. Smigel (is that the name of the guy providing the hand?) is so QUICK. It's amazing that he comes up with a funny comment seemingly on the spot and right off the top of his head.

6. there was that mexican movie...
I forget the title but it translates as "Life is a Bitch." I haven't seen it but it's supposed to be very, very good.
