12. For the longest time, I thought the line was...
"I wish that I was Jesse's girl."

I was very confused.

15. I knew a male Jesse, so that didn't confuse me.
Still, I probably understood homosexuality better than I understood transsexualism as a kid. (OK, so Jessie has a girlfriend; fair enough. But why does Rick want to be a girl?)

20. I thought the whole point of Protestantism was to avoid communion?
Oh. Maybe the in-laws are Catholics. That makes sense. My bad.

24. Boy's Catholic. Girl's Protestant.
If they have a Catholic ceremony, Boy doesn't want Girl's family to feel left out because they aren't supposed to take communion.

If they have a Protestant ceremony, elderly Catholic relatives will feel it's not a real wedding, and all of their great-grandchildren will be bastards born in sin. Or something.

I have had that speech from my Catholic grandmother. I think she was joking. I hope so.

9. "So I called the caterer back and they said they wouldn't be able
to provide the crab puffs, so would we be OK with spinach puffs instead? Hey, Alex, when you got married, were all of your relatives in the same religion? We're debating Catholic vs. Protestant ceremony, but we don't want my fiancees family to be left out of communion. Is there a compromise? Oh, and we picked up 144 votive candles this weekend for 12 cents each..."

Men talking about wedding planning.

19. They're not really metrosexuals
This is something that would be a refreshing reversal of gender roles if it wasn't taking place within earshot.

Let's just say I wasn't exactly the most enthusiastic wedding planner for my own wedding.

26. me neither
like picking up flowers at the store that am and cutting them and then putting them in the vases I bought at the dollar store. ;) At least my GF made the cake. Needless to say I should have got more help. And then the chef ran off with my dep., so I did get a pretty good per head deal, since they felt so bad for me. And it rained. Oh well. It was fun anyway.

I like wedding disaster stories. After the fact.
