Anyone playing Doom3? I need tech help.
Edited on Sat Sep-04-04 11:35 AM by Nlighten1
I'm getting the message "cannot find Doom3 Disk 1" when I start the game.

Nevermind I got that fixed but now the video is all screwed up. It is so bad I can't see the menus when the game starts. I'm using a GeForce 4 MX 440 w 128MB

1. Are you using the latest Directx? I had problems with Doom3 and Farcry
before I reformated (long story) and upgraded to Dx 9.0c

2. Good luck....
My husband has been playing, and the screens are very, very dark. You should get into your monitor settings/gamma settings and set them to as bright as possible. Then, you at least have a chance of seeing something. Graphics are really great when you can see something.

7. I don't have much choice, I'm getting my ass chewed up
and I not very far along. I've made it out of the Old Martian underground and stumbling around back at the center.

10. at the end of the game there is a secret ID room.
The path forks left and right, go left. You'll know when your close to the end.

11. I found the problem...
For some reason Doom 3 was allergic to my card being in 32 bit color mode. I changed it to 16 bit and the problem went away.

Pretty cool game so far.

9. Some really good graphics, but a really suck-ass game.
I was SOOOO looking forward to this one because of all the hype. But the frikkin spwns behind you and the darkness so bad you can't see what's killing you. Shhesh. I wasted $50.00 on this one. I'm going bact to UT 2004.

12. You can crank the brightness up...
There is a setting in the game that allows for a good bit of brightness and you can also use the settings on your monitor to increase the brightness.
