Why In The World Would ANYONE Go On Maury Or Springer...
to publicly confess an infidelity? --- And why would ANYONE ever agree to accompany their SO to be on TV to find out some "surprise" announcement.

Any man with half a brain would be able to put 2 and 2 together and simply say: "Hold it right there missy... you want to take ME to Chicago to be on Jerry Springer?! I don't even WANT to know what your surprise is. You might as well just pack your bags and get your skanky hoe ass out of my house!"

But then again... that would all depend on the guy having half-a-brain. Eh?

1. Heh
You do realise that half of these people are essentially actors, and the other half just want to be on the TV, right?

12. Right.
And so is professional wrestling!

Actually my neice and her hubby were on one of these shows. The one on the Spanish network. The talk show host's name is Christina something (blonde). They give you a script and you follow it. My niece went on it because it was all expenses paid and they gave her lots of stuff. On the show her hubby had to play a jerk who wanted to go and party a lot and neglect her and the baby. She said the audience was screaming at him, telling her to dump him, etc. All fake!

6. Righto...
I once had the website marked of a firm that hires out people for those shows. I lost the link during my last computer break-down, so I no longer have it.

Those shows are the professional wrestling of talk.

11. That being said, sometimes those show surprise people who are
gullible.

I personally know some Goths that went on one of those shows, thinking that they'd be able to present their side of the Goth/Anti-Goth debate. They thought that the host would be fair to them and let them have their say.

HA! I tried to tell them that all that would happen is they'd be treated like freaks and that the host wouldn't give them the time of the day.

I was right...they came back crying with their tails between their legs.

Same situation for liberals who go on shows like O'Retched that think they'll be the ones to suddenly get a fair shake.

3. I live in Chicago, and can tell you
with out a doubt that a lot of what you see on those shows is fake. I know people who were paid to be on Springer.

7. I can't believe those women...
Edited on Tue Aug-31-04 12:11 PM by skypilot
...who go on Maury to try to determine who fathered their child. Some of them will bring out 5 or 6 different men only to find out that none of those men is the father and then they'll come back on the show with more men. It's one thing to try to find the father of your child, it's another to do it on TV and trot out all you sex partners.

On edit: If the people on Maury are also actors like the people on Springer, I would love to know what they pay them. I can't imagine being a woman and having the producer of some show asking me to pretend to be a promiscuous women who doesn't know who fathered her child.

that his cousin is the one that has come back several times with different men taking paternity tests. He never believed it until he watched one day and it was her!!!

(So that one is true, at least)

13. Don't know what Maury pays
Springer pays $250 plus lunch at a nice downtown resturaunt. One person I know who did it is now a ring announcer for WWE. (big surprise, huh?)

"Any man with half a brain..."
The people on that show don't even have that to work with.

17. LOL... Good Point... But During Today's Episode
I had my sister-in-law rolling in laughter when I would "predict" when and how each spurned lover was going to react. Usually by storming off the stage screaming a string of profanities.
