I say "roommate" because I'm just crashing at her place until my townhouse is ready on the 15th...anyway, she's a pretty hard core Christian type who tends to be pretty conservative however she said that she is voting for Kerry in November!! Her reasoning..."Bush is not a real Christian...he claims to be one, yet he led us into a false war" I'm so glad! I tried to avoid discussing politics with her before because I was afraid that she was going to be pro-Bush so you can imagine my surprise over this discovery.
Quite a few people whom I would have pegged immediately as Bushbots have told me that they're voting for Kerry. It gives me hope to hear stories like this! :D
she's the type that will read her bible every night and go to church every Sunday, so I pretty much had her pegged for a freeper.
I was listening to the Majority Report on my computer when she got home and it just spurred the conversation. Unfortunately her parents and boyfriend are voting Bush, but she is working on them too. I also told her about my campaigning experiences and she seemed intrigued...however the nature of our major doesn't leave us much free time
my team is just finishing up pre-season, their first game (women's soccer) is on the 1st...so they had 2 weeks to prepare for the season. Thankfully they are done with the 3 a day practices. Now all I have to do is work my class schedule around all of their games and practices. Hence my lack of free time
I've been surprised a couple of times. There's this elderly Mormon lady I visit sometimes when I'm walking my dog, and I found out she doesn't like Bush at all and wants Kerry to win. She thought that guy before Bush did a real good job, too.
my conservative sister (who has a PhD no less) gave my dad 3 books by Bill O'Reilly for Father's Day...for her it's TBN and Fox News! Current events are just a sign the End Times are Nigh!
I shake my head...I love her but I'm glad she lives a thousand miles away.... :(
and by this I mean those who truly operate by Christ's intended teachings of love and compassion for others, would find Bush reprehensible. As for the " pro-life" argument, I think that he has caused no end of death. He is not a Christian in my reading of the term.
