My blog was featured in Milwaukee Magazine!
I didn't find out about it until I found a link from another site that mentioned it in my referrals, but...

Milwaukee Magazine's actually pretty well-read (it's your standard local "my city is so great" rag, but still). They did a roundup of Milwaukee-area Web logs; mine was one of five.

They think I do best when I post personal stories rather than political wonking, which is nice, since I'm working on my humor writing.

3. Well done.
They're a little snippy about the Wonk thing, but that's local magazine journalists, always trying to reinforce their little hierarchy.

4. 'tis OK...I am a partisan hack and I admit it.
So...the big question...

Should I post the vintage-store story? :D:D:D

(the answer is, of course, no, because my parents read the blog and if I ever do feel a need to tell them about that aspect of my personal life, it wont be like that...but it's fun to speculate....)

17. On the other hand...
Perhaps a certain vintage store clerk will read it too, and one thing will lead to another?

You can always tell your parents that you're experimenting with fiction!

18. Well...
I don't think they'd buy it.
I don't think they think I'm capable of making that stuff up.

Hell...I'm not capable of making that stuff up.

28. Wow!
Um...what high school did you attend? My dad taught at Niles East about when you would have been there. (He moved to North later, and retired last year.)

If you took Spanish, PM me.

And thanks...

Thanks, sundog!

I write for a magazine for my day job. I've been interviewed by USA Today and Associated Press and NPR, for my day job.

But...still...I'm never more excited than when my little blog gets picked up by a little paper or little mag (even one of the "parochial masturbation" genre such as this).
