That scares me. Maybe I'm just waking up -- or maybe it's just because I read this lefty message board -- but I've never seen people so polarized in my life. Maybe it was this way during the Nixon/Viet Nam times. I was young then and didn't pay attention.

I can only imagine when an atmosphere would be any more divided than we are right now, and that'd be during the Civil War.

Whenever a freeper would get up in my face at a protest and I would tell them I was a Desert Storm vet the insults would always get more vicious and their voices more louder. Apparently that is the ulitimate sin, to be military affiliated and not a wingnut. It makes their heads explode. I have been the recipient of this bile on a few occasions and it ain't pretty. As a matter of fact it happened moments before the first time I ever met you and WillPitt in Harvard Sq during that small protest that day last year, that is why my sister had "Freepers Suck" scrawled on the back of her protest sign..

I also didn't renew my membership to the VFW this year..
