I've never tried drugs. Am I the only one? Full disclosure, I did get sort of high once on a combination of a non-drowsey cold medicine and Jolt cola. It was not on purpose, but it did help me pull an all-nighter in college.

10. I'm actually not that curious about it

The aspirin experience was actually pretty 'trippy.' I had really low blood pressure (unbeknownst to me.) Even without the 'drugs' I was seeing the world in third person. Aspirin lowers your blood pressure. After a couple of pills, I laughed hysterically for two hours for no reason and I could hardly stand up.

Don't despair for me though, I occasionally have a drink or three.

Many have tried drugs - you will find few here who have gone so far as meth or oxy-contin.

Some drugs are functional - some are not.

Alcohol and Weed CAN be functional for some - but NOT all.

A friend and I were discussing this very subject a couple days ago...she straight laced and me...not so much. After naming every compound currently known, it seems I've tried absolutely everything barring mescaline and/or peyote (are they the same thing??) at the VERY least once. And several FAR too many times...

I wonder... does that make me adventurous or foolish or both? :silly:

why drink or get high? it just makes people look and act like dumbasses, that was always my justification for not doing it... i was too good to be reduced to those i made fun of. egotistical? you bet.

as always i have no problem with other people's decisions unless they affect me in a negative way... its just not for me, and im not gonna tell people how to live, just be aware, if somone is high/drunk in my presence... im gonna play mind games with em, its fun. they are about as easy to fool as the average republican president... i wonder why THAT is.

I just could not, for the LIFE of me come up with a reason to do otherwise. I did watch my other brother and his wife do "whatever" and saw the harm done to their kids. none of whom are "the sharpest knifes in the drawer". One of the Kids did drugs, the other not, each has their own special challanges in life. I am so grateful that the one that chose to follow in his Fathers foot steps and is a "party user" has also chosen not to have children.
As an aside, both of my children are members of Mensa and are currently serving in the Canadian Military.
Please believe me when I say that each must choose their own path and I believe that your Karma is the sum of those choices.
Has no one here ever wished for a loved one to have taken a different path? perhaps even them selves?

Got to see my brother's "post-21" morning-after hang-overs-- really put me off drinking. My dad smoked tobacco cigarettes for 40+ years before finally quitting-- got enough second-hand smoke never to want or need to smoke anything myself.

Hung out with Quakers in high school. No peer pressure to indulge there.

So I guess my answer is, you're not the only "square" here! ;)
