9. Geeze
I keep wondering how Estonians lear to speak the language. Like Finnish and Hungarian, they are some sort of complex languages.

20. Estonian's not hard
if you learn it from infancy. Same with every other language.

There is only one way to pronounce each letter of the alphabet in Estonian, so learning to read is much easier for us than it is for English speakers.

But I do know some Estonian-Americans who have taught their non-Esto spouses to speak fairly fluent Estonian, so learning it as an adult is not impossible.

25. I play an estonian folk instrument
a type of zither played by the finns ,estonians, and a lot of other cultures in the region, and trying to research on old estonian folk music and poetry for that instrument has left me with a great deal of eye strain. I am hoping to visit the baltics in the next year or so, as I would ,like to see Latvia, Lithuanian and Estonia if I could. A lot of astronomical discoveries were made in the 19th century at Tartu University, with telescopes made by a rather famous American telescope makers, so I would like to visit the observatory there, as well. A lot of European history was made in the baltics, yet little is known about these small nations.

13. Lithuanian was my first language
Although I was born in the USA and so was mom, the folks and grands always spoke Lithuanian. They started teaching me English after I turned 4 or so. I started first grade at 6. Guess I had a crash course!

24. English is my only language.
I wasn't required to take a foreign language back in the early 80's. Now, at 37, I will be taking my first foreign language...Spanish, in the fall.
My high school didn't ask too much of me, did they?
