Now for something completely frivolous: What's the best color for toenails
I like painting my toenails, especially in the summer when I'm mostly wearing sandals.

Right now, the are bright red, but I often use a sparkly hot pink polish. So, do you paint your toenails? What's your favorite color? What about stickers or jewels?

Men can chime in, too. Do you think feet are sexier with painted nails or just plain?

1. I like a natural look to toenails
So either clear polish, or a "french manicure" for the toes.

....and find that a soft blue really goes good with tanned toes and denim during the summer.

7. You could paint your toenails if you wanted
In fact, I just did a week-long cycling event and I saw a number of me with painted toenails peeking through their Shimano sandals. It was rather intriguing.

39. Well, there is that
Metallic Silver is the "new stainless steel." At least that's what the people who make appliances tell me.

Metallic Silver toenails would be kewl.

10. I like red too.
Right now though, I have this sparkly plumish berry color because it matches my current favorite lipstick. I rarely paint my fingernails (too much maintenance), but I like to paint my toenails.

11. Oh man! I found the best toenail polish!
I got it from www.delsol.com. It's one color inside, but it changes color in the sun. My favorite is the lime green one that turns pink outdoors. It's soooo much fun!

23. Well, you could be REALLY creative
and paint you nails different colors and be a multichanging rainbow or how about doing each nail with different colors, like a tri-color effect that would really be six colors!

(OK, I'm just being silly here. :-) )

12. I like to paint my toenails, the colours I vary...
I have a metallic gold polish I use when I'm wearing my metallic gold sandals. With my olive-toned skin and a light tan it's a intriguing combination.

I use cherry reds and deep roses in the winter when my skin is more pale, and in general I use soft pinks and peach tones because they give a soft, clean, finished look.

14. I rarely use the same nail color twice... isn't that terrible? I tend to
go with seasonal colors; right now I'm in a sparkly hibiscus fuschia pink mode... In the fall I lean towards orange reds... in the winter, the jewel tones.

Toes without nail varnish just don't look right.....

20. Mine are bright red right now - freshly done on Monday
And I bought this color because of its silly name. It's called "I'm Not a Waitress" by OPI. All of their colors have ridiculous names. My other favorite is a more orangey red by them called "Texas BBQ." :)

25. I have to say though,
if you don't have reasonably nice shaped toes, don't bother painting them. I've seen some toes that should be covered at all times, this one in particular had a bright, bright red on and I'm not kidding......they looked like fingers. Yikes!!

44. "Italian Love Affair" by OPI
... with two or more coats, it's kinda creamy pink, looks good with tanned feet. I never have "naked" toes, they're always some color or other. Usually in the pink family, depending on season, either lightish, jeweled or fuschia but occasionally in winter will go with a deep berry red.

Fingernails, now, I usually keep very bare, unless we're going out or something. I found a great color by Savvy "French Ballet Pink" which even with 2-3 coats barely shows at all, it's just a bit of glimmer. I prefer colors that won't show if they chip; I have never, ever had a manicure that lasts more than 2 days (with a bright color, that is). I use my hands too hard, I guess, for the color to stay put.

46. Red
I tend to always go to red on my toes. Bright true red in the summer or for fun. I've been doing the blood red because it feels like fall in Cleveland already. I like red on my toes because my nails never get long enough for red to just look bad on my fingernails... for that just a french manicure.
