Computer gurus - help please!

When I re-booted my computer this morning, I got an alert:

PARASITE ALERT - A Parasite Has Been Found On Your Computer

Virtual Bouncer has found a parasite on your computer. This parasite is monitoring the URLs that you visit when you surf the web and also pops ads up at your, et al...

I don't know what the hell "Virtual Bouncer" is, and I don't intentionally have this installed on my computer. I use a Gateway laptop, connect through SBC/Yahoo DSL.

Does anyone out there have any reassurance/suggestions/comments???

your machine. Run a scan and it will walk you through removal.

6. For future reference.........

Whenever you get a pop-up don't ever click any boxes or buttons within the pop-up window, like "close" "no thanks" "not now" or any other sort of response asked of you. Use the "X" in the upper right corner. If you use their boxes, the very least it is doing is sending your E-Mail address back to the spammers to let them know they found a "live one".

SBC/Yahoo DSL blocks them all - I haven't seen one in a long time. Thanks for the help!!!

WTF? I ran the spyware-eliminator as suggested...other suggestions????

1. Run the Virtual Bouncer Uninstaller. It can be found under " Uninstall procedure"
