Chita Rivera was just in my living room!!
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 09:45 PM by KzooDem
There's a film being shot next door at my neighbor's house (they are shooting night scenes all through the night tonight) which stars Chita Rivera.

The producer had scoped out my house as a possible location (after I see how they have invaded the neighbors, I'm glad they DIDN'T decide to film in mine) and saw me outdoors watching me watch them get set up.

She came over and told me that two of trailers never showed up so could some of the cast relax and hang out in my living room between takes. Of course I said yes.

So far this evening, I've played short-term host to Chita Rivera, Claire Bloom and some actress I never heard of from Beverly Hills 90210 named Josie Davis. Word has it that Mayim Bialik (the chick who played Blossom on TV and also the young CC Bloom in "Beaches") will be over soon. This is pretty wild!

4. Yup...that's the one. Right outside my window...
It's pretty cool in a way..the whole street is closed down, all these huge trucks and trailers. The Panavision truck is parked in my driveway!

Are you a Kalamazoo native? I raise a glass of Bell's Oberon to you.

5. Yep. Born @ Borgess in 08/72
Spent the better part of my formative years growing up on the Portage part of Lovers Lane.

Just moved to WA in late 98 - still a Michigan gal, and will likely return there. I LOVE Kalamazoo - always have.

I want an old historical house downtown!

7. I live up on Wheaton, between Long and Short....
Did you know Joanna or Dana Kowalski? They are the screenwriters for the film. They went to Kzoo Central.

8. Nope, don't know them.
I never went to Kalamazoo schools.

You know where Pioneer Park is? My FAVORITE apt. *ever* was on that park - along the back, in the center, facing Westnedge.

My sister (step) currently lives on the corner of...mmmm... Dutton? and Westnedge, a good friend lives on Davis, and one of my best friends on Elm - more in the Stuart Ave. area.

I remember when 4th Coast wasn't even thought of yet... :) I used to walk over there a lot when I lived in the aforementioned apt - I believe they opened it when I was living there.

I was just back there in January - but under poor circumstances. Now I have to save up vacation again, and hope someone ELSE doesn't try and die on me so I can actually make a trip back for FUN instead of to hang out in a hospital for a couple weeks. :)

3. They're filming "Kalamzoo?" according to IMDB Pro...
Plot Summary

Three women return home for their ten year high school reunion to discover that a time capsule made on graduation night, predicting where everyone would be in ten years time, is due to be opened and read aloud at the impending event. Horrified at the thought of their unfilled goals being revealed, they embark on a 'search and destroy' mission for the capsule and chaos ensues.

Very cool! I loved Claire Bloom in "Limelight" (w/ Charlie Chaplin)...
